I believe that Kris Aquino thought about that and tried so hard to keep her marriage as long as she could. Many times we could hear her crying on The Buzz amidst the infidelity issues of James Yap – she says, she will forgive and will try to forget because she wanted to make the marriage work for the sake of Baby James.

Of course she knows the consequences of not having a father. She knew what happened to Josh. As a mother, she could have felt her son’s need for a father figure in the house. Of course she knows all of that. She’s not the same 16-year old anymore.

But alas, last Sunday on the Buzz. Anyone could see that IT IS DEFINITELY OVER. Kris Aquino has lost her tears. She’s not over emotional anymore. She has stopped crying so much. And she could laugh. She could say, “Good!” when asked about her opinion about James, dating another woman.

Ladies and gentlemen, Kris Aquino has moved on.

For the emotinal Kris Aquino, it’s rare to see her almost emotional and strong about the issue. What makes a person so strong? Probably so much pain, isn’t it?

She admitted that they have been living in one roof for a long time – around a year – without communication. She mentioned “co-existence” and that’s not a very good term to use in a marriage, isn’t it? She tried. James tried. They both know how and why their marriage ended. There was finality in every word. Every period in her sentences.

She said, now she could see the things she failed to see before when she was so in love. She failed to realize the problems in their age gap, in their education, in the way they were brought up by their families… their likes, their dislikes, their priorities…. Many say that Kris Aquino is a strong woman. And she admits. She was told by her sister that all the things that made her successful in her career – leadership, descision-making, vocal, strong-willed – those are the things that will make a good marriage impossible.

What everyone could see, she ignored. Because she was in love. And now that she could see, it means she’s not in love anymore.

Part of the rumors going on is that it was Kris Aquino who provoked her husband into exploding and finally deciding to separate. We all know how Kris could be tactless and she must have said a lot of hurtful things to James. To which, Kris Aquino replied,

“I just want a chance to heal. Akala ng lahat ako lang yung madaldal at pwedeng masakit magsalita. Hindi niyo lang alam lahat ng insultong inabot na rin ng pagkatao ko sa years na pinagsamahan namin… I am not asking you to take my side but just to see why I am firm in saying this is a separation that will be legalized and finalized.”

As we look at the couple, we see Kris Aquino as the stronger personality and James Yap, the quiet and timid man. Because of this, rumors also went around that Kris has been controlling James. Then James snapped when he felt that enough is enough. But Kris said, this is not the case.

“I have never controlled James. More than one year na nga akong hindi nakikialam sa kanya. We have been living under one roof but totally separate lives… I was tired of lying to the world and lying to myself.”

Kris said in The Buzz that they’ve had a lot of problems before. There isn’t only one reason why they broke up. But there’s what we call “the last straw”.

 “It was what James told Baby James in front of me. Sorry, but I can’t make public what it was. That’s why I kept my silence on The Buzz last Sunday. At three years old, my son is vulnerable and can be emotionally and psychologically damaged.”

Right now, Kris and her children lives in a hotel in Makati. James Yap still lives in their condo. She said that if James won’t leave their condo, she won’t fight for it. “Ayoko ng gulo,” she said.

“My Mom was insistent before that the practical thing to do was to ask for a prenup. James is smarter than you all give him credit for. He told me then na-in-insulto ang pagkatao niya and I was stupid enough to not insist.”

And to all of these, James Yap only says,

“[..]Our country has a lot of problems. Ewan ko ba kung bakit ang problema namin ng asawa ko ang pinagtutuunan ng pansin ng tao.”

We all saw/heard the ups and downs of their relationship. They went to vacations. They had extravagant gifts for each other on birthdays and anniversaries. Kris gave up her kissing scenes.  And then there goes the fights, too. The girls. The lady in Belo’s office and Mayen Austria in Valle Verde.

Last Sunday, Kris said her piece – as always – on The Buzz. We DON”T KNOW the reason. We only know it’s over. Kris has already given up on her marriage despite the many times she and her husband have tried to resolve it. The whole country should know how much they tried; how much Pinky, Balsy, Viel, Noy, Boy othey friends and family tried to tell them – save your marriage. We all want Kris Aquino to be happy with a man once and for all, right? The woman deserves it. **sigh** She has probably cried enough to flood Marikina and make it disappear on the map.

Then again, we DON’T KNOW the reason. We don’t know if it’s yet another third wheel issue. We also don’t know the other fights they’ve had. We don’t know the exchange of spats and blames, the tears, drama and even curses. We don’t know who is to blame. Kris said, only Baby James deserves to know what happened to his parents’ relationship. That is right.

We don’t know, so we can’t judge. We can only hope so much for their relationship to be better – maybe as a couple, maybe not. Only Kris Aquino and James Yap know what is best for their relationship. But we must believe that they did their best to make their relationship better.

We certainly missed this couple after the box-office hit “One More Chance”. We adored the love story of Basha and Popoy that veered away from the usual cheesy love story. The plot was good, the lines – even better. Can MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY top that film?

Watching the trailer, I’m having hopes for the plot. Interviews say that what makes this film good is that many people can relate to it. It’s a common love story plot that almost everybody can relate to. It’s a perfect meeting of two people with a side glitch of a third party.

It’s the classic, “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” (come on, you know the lyrcis. It was once a national anthem)

I have no doubts with John Lloyd and Bea’s performance. As always, they are always top-notch. They’re perfectly in their respective characters.

ALTHOUGH. I don’t really like the idea of their characters – in general profile. John Lloyd is Allan, the serious guy and Bea Alonzo is Mia, the happy gal. Bea says that it’s different from her personality. Ibang-iba daw. But I don’t think it’s that far from Basha or Marian (Close to You). Still, it’s raw judgment. We still have to see the movie.

I really like Bea Alonzo. I believe in her talent. I believe in the so many things that she can do on TV and movies. I’m really hoping that she’s given a more serious project that is apart from romantic-comedies and love teams.

In Philippine cinema, there’s an awful need for better tandems of writers and directors.

Kris said, of course she can’t say that they’re totally okay and said that she’s still kind of “punishing” James. She stressed that her and James’ foremost responsibility is to their son, baby James. In addition, she saw how James dearly loves their son.

Kris Aquino’s interview went to a close with her saying, “James knows how much he could lose”.

I only hope that other people could also have that kind of self-pride and self respect in a relationship. She tries to fix the relationship, she tries to keep her family together, but she doesn’t forget herself as a woman who needs to be respected. If anything, Kris Aquino bends for the sake of her children.

Kris Aquino, Ninoy and Cory’s youngest, was not able to watch the episode due to her other obligations but asked her sisters to catch the episode on tape. The sisters, Pinky and Ballsy told media that they loved the episode and that Piolo and Bea were able to do their roles well as their Mom and Dad.

As part of the audience, there were two things that I could think about Ninoy and Cory.

We all know that Ninoy was a patriot. He loves the country and he only wished the best for his countrymen. In MMK’s episode, I found Ninoy a little bit annoying as he constantly inserted little lectures about the country’s state in conversations.

He talked about it when he reminded Cory about the 12-hour electricity rule in Pampanga. He talked about it when he told his wife that they only had a big container for a toilet.

I thought, was Ninoy really like that? Or it was only a bit exaggerated in the episode?

For Cory, it somehow showed a different side of her that many Filipinos do not know. For many, she was saintly-kind and always pristine in her actions. The episode showed, she’s a human being, too. She refused Ninoy at the beginning (was it also because Ninoy was annoyingly perky?), she didn’t like politics and didn’t, at first, shared the same passion Ninoy had for the country.

I’m thinking now, who did Ninoy love more: Cory or the country? I am thinking, did Cory love Ninoy while Ninoy loved the country? There were various sacrifices on Cory’s part so that Ninoy could soar with his dream for the country. And what about Ninoy’s sacrifices for Cory?

I still need to watch more for the 2^nd part of Maalaala Mo Kaya and still hoping to find out more of their love story.

The article on NY Daily News says that a 42 year-old Taiwanese man died of stroke after watching the award winning movie, “Avatar”.

I can’t help but be reminded of similar stories with Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ”. Aside from other controversies, reports of men and women dying from stroke came about when it was shown in 2004.

The last thing that people should think about this is to blame the movie. The deaths are no joke and must have caused great grievance but it only shows how good the movies are. It only shows how effective the movie was in passing on the world, the story and the emotions to the audience.

Not saying that a movie – for it to be called a good one – should cost a life. But a good movie has to be able to communicate well with the audience; be able to stir the mind and the emotions.

If not, it can go down the drain.

Avatar, of Lightstorm Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox won Best Motion Picture for Drama in the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

Amidst the many signs that the other cares so much about her, she still hesitates.  Dense, much? She says, she just doesn’t want to assume.

I’m definitely recommending Star Cinema’s upcoming movie, Paano na Kaya, starred by Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu. Mae (Kim Chiu) fell in love with her best friend, Bogs (Gerald Anderson). Bogs looks at Mae as a sister while he has another girl friend (Melissa Ricks).

How do they eventually fall for each other in the end? From the director of Tayong Dalawa, Ruel Bayani shows how friends cross the line to being lovers.

Paano Na Kaya will premiere on January 27, 2010.

We’ll see if they can both relive the beautiful love story of two of the nation’s heroes. They should do a good job since there are also plans for a movie for Ninoy and Cory. If they could pull this off, they might be considered for the movie cast.
